About your trip

This 5-day women’s adventure in Western Montana is the perfect blend of active exploration, stunning natural beauty, and meaningful connection. Centered around Glacier National Park and the vibrant town of Whitefish, the trip offers a taste of everything—from iconic hikes and alpine thrills to cozy evenings and group camaraderie. Whether you’re standing at the edge of Avalanche Lake, gliding down the alpine slide, or sipping wine with new friends, every day brings a new adventure with just the right balance of challenge and relaxation.

Designed for women who love being outdoors and crave fresh air and fresh perspectives, this itinerary is about more than just miles on the trail. It's about confidence, joy, and rediscovering the wildness within. With a supportive group, expert guidance, and time to both push yourself and unwind, you'll return home feeling stronger, more connected, and completely recharged.

Activity Level - Moderate

This trip is moderately active and designed for women who enjoy being on the move and exploring the outdoors at a comfortable pace. Most days include 3–6 miles of hiking on well-maintained trails with some elevation gain, particularly in Glacier National Park where alpine terrain can be uneven but rewarding. Activities like the alpine slide, or optional zip-line, add bursts of fun physical movement, while built-in downtime and flexible options ensure participants can listen to their bodies and adjust as needed. A good level of overall fitness, comfort with walking for extended periods, and a sense of adventure will make the experience both manageable and deeply fulfilling.

Weather

In August, Whitefish, Montana, and Glacier National Park enjoy warm, sunny days and cool, refreshing nights—perfect for outdoor adventures. Daytime temperatures in Whitefish typically range from the mid-70s to low 80s°F (24–28°C), while Glacier Park can be slightly cooler, especially at higher elevations. Nights often dip into the 40s and 50s°F (4–12°C). Skies are generally clear, with low humidity and only occasional rain showers, making August one of the best months to visit the area.

Money & Tipping

All the excursions listed in the itinerary are included. Bring cash/credit cards for purchasing souvenirs, additional snacks/meals, alcoholic drinks, extra activities, and other items.

All gratuities are included in your adventure, with the exception of tips for your Chicas Abroad Tour Leader. While tipping your Tour Leader is entirely optional, it’s a meaningful way to show appreciation for the care, energy, and behind-the-scenes magic they bring to your trip.

If you’ve had an exceptional experience, a typical gratuity for a trip of this length ranges from $200–$250. In cases where more than one Tour Leader is present, you’re welcome to give your tip to one of them—they’ll ensure it’s shared among the team.

Aug 20 - Glacier NP Hiking, Going-to-the-Sun-Road, Views

Today we dive headfirst into the magic of Glacier National Park, one of the crown jewels of the Rockies. Our first hike leads us through towering cedar groves on the Trail of the Cedars, then winds upward to the breathtaking Avalanche Lake, where waterfalls tumble down cliffs into turquoise waters. It’s the perfect intro hike—energizing but accessible, with plenty of chances to stop, snap photos, and take it all in.

After lunch by the lake or a nearby lodge, we’ll enjoy a scenic drive along the legendary Going-to-the-Sun Road, marveling at dramatic vistas and glacial valleys. Back in Whitefish, we’ll wind down with a hearty dinner and maybe even some lakeside sunset watching. This is what Montana is all about: big skies, bold views, and bonding in nature.

Aug 21 - Logan Pass, Highline Trail & Mountain Chalet

It’s time to hit one of Glacier’s most iconic hikes! We’ll make our way to Logan Pass, where the wildflower-filled meadows and soaring peaks set the stage for today’s adventures. Depending on the group’s vibe, you can choose the panoramic Highline Trail, a dramatic route that hugs the cliffs with jaw-dropping views at every turn, or opt for the equally rewarding Hidden Lake Overlook, a shorter hike with high chances of spotting mountain goats.

Lunch is enjoyed trail-side with epic backdrops before a leisurely return down the scenic highway. This is our most visually stunning day—think postcards come to life—and you’ll return to Whitefish feeling like you just stepped into a nature documentary. Tonight, we’ll keep things relaxed with a casual dinner and plenty of time to share photos and stories from the trail.

You can make today as exhilarating or chill as you like—there’s even a treetop obstacle course if you’re feeling bold!

Lunch will be served with a view at the summit café, and afterward, we’ll return to town for some well-earned downtime.
