Get ready for another incredible day! We’ll begin by visiting the iconic black sand beach in Vik, Vikurfjara. Renowned as one of Iceland’s most breathtaking beaches, it’s a dream destination for photographers and nature lovers alike. The striking contrast of black volcanic sands, dramatic cliffs, and roaring waves creates an otherworldly atmosphere you won’t forget.
After soaking in the beauty of the beach, we’ll stop by the charming and quirky Skool Beans café. Housed in a converted school bus, this cozy spot offers delicious coffee and treats—a perfect way to fuel up for the adventures ahead.
Back on the Ring Road, we’ll make our way to the awe-inspiring Fjaðrárgljúfur Canyon. This short, scenic 2-mile hike will take us along a stunning gorge carved by glacial waters over 9,000 years ago during the last Ice Age. It’s a blend of natural history and jaw-dropping vistas.
Lunch will once again be a picturesque picnic stop, followed by a visit to the mesmerizing Fjallsárlón Glacier Lagoon. Marvel at the floating icebergs and take in the grandeur of Vatnajökull Glacier, Iceland’s largest ice cap—it’s a sight you’ll carry with you forever.
As the day winds down, we’ll head to the charming town of Höfn, with a chance to explore the striking Vestrahorn mountain range and its nearby Viking village if time permits. As night falls, we’ll keep watch for the Northern Lights dancing across the sky. To cap off the day, we’ll enjoy a delicious dinner in Höfn, reflecting on the wonders of Iceland we’ve experienced so far.
