Immerse yourself in the quaint Bavarian-themed village of Leavenworth nestled between towering mountains in Central Washington. This popular destination is perfect for outdoor lovers with it's fabulous hikes and beautiful views of mountains and rivers. You'll feel like you've landed in Germany!
During this 4-day adventure, we will hike to the stunning Colchuck Lake, ride the alpine coaster with views of the gorgeous surroundings, visit wineries in Chelan, and enjoy delicious food.
The Colchuck hike is 9+ miles in length with a significant elevation gain. Our hike begins at 3,300 feet elevation and climbs to 5,650 feet. Our pace will be around a 30-minute mile (with rest stops for pictures and water/snack breaks).
To prepare for this hike, try to do some high-altitude hikes (at least 5,000 feet) with a similar elevation gain. If you don’t have access to mountains around you, hit the stair-stepper at the gym! You need to get both your legs and your lungs in shape for this hike.
Comfortable hiking boots/shoes are a priority. You should also have a comfortable day pack that you can fill with a minimum of 2L of water, snacks, and other essentials. Practice hiking in your boots/shoes and wearing your day pack to ensure there are no hot spots.
We will be doing one more shorter hike that is 2.4 miles and flat.

After breakfast, we’ll head into the Enchantments to hike to the infamous Colchuck lake. This is a difficult hike that is 9 miles out-and-back with nearly 2,500 feet elevation gain. There is some boulder-scrambling (nothing too extreme), stair climbing, and amazing views along the entire trail. This is a hike you want to spend the summer getting in shape for! But when you get to the top, you’ll be rewarded with a glacier blue-green lake that is absolutely stunning. We’ll enjoy a mountain picnic lunch at the lake and then venture back down to the trailhead.
After relaxing a bit and cleaning up, we will ride the new 2700' Alpine Coaster at Leavenworth's Adventure Park! The ride is approximately 4 minutes long and provides beautiful views of the surrounding area. And the coaster has brakes so you can go as fast or slow as you'd like.
After our coaster ride, we will hit the streets of Leavenworth again this evening for more fabulous eats and drinks.
