Embark on an unforgettable women’s adventure through Portugal and southern Spain, where every stop offers a perfect blend of culture, flavor, and fun. We’ll kick off in Porto with riverside strolls and port wine tastings, cruise the canals of colorful Aveiro, and explore Lisbon’s vibrant streets with side trips to fairy-tale Sintra and the stylish coast of Cascais.
As we head south, the Algarve welcomes us with golden cliffs, sea views, and the stunning Seven Hanging Valleys Trail. Then it's on to Spain for sizzling flamenco nights, tapas in Seville, and a bucket-list hike along the breathtaking Caminito del Rey - one of Melanie’s (Chicas Abroad Owner) all-time favorite hikes for its jaw-dropping views and epic adventure
Designed for adventurous women who love discovery, connection, and sunshine—this is the European escape you’ve been waiting for.
This trip features a moderate activity level, perfect for women who enjoy exploring on foot and staying active while traveling. Expect daily walking tours on cobblestone streets, a scenic coastal hike along the Seven Hanging Valleys Trail, and the thrilling (but safe) Caminito del Rey walk. While most activities are not strenuous, participants should be comfortable walking for a few hours at a time and handling stairs, uneven terrain, and varied weather conditions.
March is a lovely time to visit Portugal and southern Spain, with mild spring weather and fewer crowds. In Porto and Lisbon, temperatures typically range from the mid-50s to mid-60s °F (13–18°C), with a chance of light rain, so a light jacket and umbrella are handy. As you head south to the Algarve and into Spain’s Andalusia region, expect sunnier skies and warmer temps in the 60s to low 70s °F (16–22°C). Layers are key, as mornings and evenings can be cool while afternoons are comfortably warm for exploring.
All the excursions listed in the itinerary are included. Bring cash/credit cards for purchasing souvenirs, additional snacks/meals, alcoholic drinks, extra activities, and other items. You can either order Euros from your bank at home or use an ATM on arrival in Portugal to get some cash. Exchanging USD to Euros at the airport or at a bank in Spain or Portugal is not always easy and doesn't give the best exchange rates.
All gratuities are included in your adventure, with the exception of tips for your Chicas Abroad Tour Leader. While tipping your Tour Leader is entirely optional, it’s a meaningful way to show appreciation for the care, energy, and behind-the-scenes magic they bring to your trip.
If you’ve had an exceptional experience, a typical gratuity for a trip of this length ranges from $250–$350. In cases where more than one Tour Leader is present, you’re welcome to give your tip to one of them—they’ll ensure it’s shared among the team.
A custom packing list will be emailed out a few months prior to departure.
